Episode Arc – The Tangled Web of Shibuya Station
Kaito Asagiri never fit in with his school crowd. He sees patterns in the everyday, cracks in the logic of normal life, while others skip past.

Kaito drifts through another day at Shinmei High. Whispered rumors fill his mind, half-invisible like lines drawn with a pale marker. His sister Yuka, a pillar of reason behind his messy thrill-seeking, usually keeps him grounded, but this evening even she seems oddly tense.
He catches her glancing at the clock with worried eyes. Has she noticed something too?
At dusk, Kaito sees glimmers near the train station—men in black suits slotting silver data sticks into what should be ticket machines. Shadows flicker across glass three levels up. As the sea of students flows, Kaito knows this isn’t right, but who can you tell?
He meets up with his small group, always. There’s Reina, a disheveled genius, sometimes brilliant, about as cautious as a puppy. Rei, the other, more withdrawn and obsessed with camera lenses, claims he can spot a tail at fifty steps.
Reina chews gum as she talks to Kaito: “You picked up that file I sent you? Weird crowd at the station again.”
Kaito admits he saw something odd. Rei, without pausing, flips open a thermal camera and points at the plaza. Blotches not shaped like people shift behind a reflective wall. Begging the question—what’re they hiding? Do you believe every odd sight?
They follow these signs across Shibuya’s sprawl. Step by step, breadcrumb by breadcrumb.
The group begins collecting small clues: SIM card wrappers swept under locked doors, maintenance panels plated with stickers from a defunct 90s telecom company no one remembers. There’s a pattern in the cable color-code, perhaps even in how often the elevator skips a floor after dusk. It’s like someone is pulling strings none of them even see.
As the days pass, more people ask about Kaito. Some staff at the station; a new teacher jokes oddly about ‘keeping schedules’, voice too even to be real. Yuka worries. Kaito shrugs off her warnings, diving deeper.
“If we stop now, we’ll just stay in the dark,” Kaito insists to his friends.
But then, files and odd warnings start flooding on Reina’s phone at 2AM. Videos play backward, then stall: a silent shot of two men in airport uniforms walking into a blank wall and vanishing. Rei gets fuzzy audio logs on burnt CDs in his mailbox saying, “Look between the stairs. Not below them.”
The group sneaks into the webwork tunnels said to join all of Shibuya underground. There’s tension as they jerry-rig an old badge scanner, use chewing gum to block locks. What lies behind the new wall panel? Folded pages dropped—do you believe fate works that way?
Just as Reina pries up a plate, an alarm shrills. A sprinting game begins. The station feels half-alive: false reflections in the glass, gravity shifting for half a second, coin lockers vibrating for no clear cause.
Down there, the group finds a basement filled with static on ancient TV sets, blending scenes of the plaza overhead—live, but with a twenty second delay. A hand-written log labels these cameras by numbers, names, and codes that don’t match any map.
Kaito grabs the ledger, thumbing a picture taped inside. To his shock, it’s a candied photo of his own late father, labeled “Asset 713-cleared.” The same faded brown hair as Kaito’s. And a date two years after he died.
Cold chills down their spines. Was Kaito’s father part of the scheme?
Yuka’s text chiming, urgent and loaded: “Get out—someone’s coming. We’ve been found.”
Bare lights snap as figures close in. Kaito, gripping the log, herds the others past glitching monitors and up some, down others, with agents behind every stair. What exactly has he discovered? How deep should they go? 
As doors slam down and a red strobe flashes through fogged windows, Kaito makes a desperate call. He splits from the group, drawing off the men in black to buy time, sending Reina and Rei with evidence and herded through an emergency hatch.
In his hidden earpiece, Yuka’s worried voice prompts near panic, “If you’re hurt—I’ll never forgive you.”
Kaito squeezes between the last seventh floor sublevel, unlocking a forgotten conduit. Feathers of light stain the tile as he appears to vanish. Back topside, Reina and Rei realize documents on the cameras match certain people known from their lives—teachers, even a vendor they bought gyoza from last Sunday.
But then—scene break. Kaito wakes cuffed to a simple chair, facing a man in a blue-tipped suit reading off each clue the teens gathered. The last words soon echo down the near-dark, “Mr. Asagiri, it’s time you saw who’s truly watching.”
Will Kaito finally learn if the conspiracy is real, or be erased like the others before?
