Gold on Misty Hollow Ridge
Introduction: The Heartbeat of Adventure
Mina Sakamoto loves stories about lost gold. Her uncle used to spin wild tales about the Misty Hollow Ridge and old treasure. When Mina comes across a tattered map hidden in the attic, she can’t shake the tug of fate. What would you do if the clue to a legend fell right at your feet?
Supporting Cast Steps In
She doesn’t plan to do this alone. Ryo Ogawa, her best friend, always has her back. You would like Ryo—bright, clever, a bit too safe. Old clubmate Emi Tanaka pushes for action, while shy Kaito promises rare sky views with his homemade drone.
Mina flashes the faded map. “If there’s gold up there, it will change our summer!” Emi grins. Ryo frowns. “Does your mom know?”
Setting Out
A day later, the group leaves the edge of town. Broken paths, faint signs pointing up or nowhere, and bush whispering out their nerves. Kaito reminds everyone not all old tales are true, but as the ground gets soft and the fog rolls in, no one talks about turning back.

The Heart of the Conflict
This isn’t just about gold—not really. Mina hopes for proof her uncle told the truth. Ryo doesn’t want risks but can’t let Mina down. Have you ever helped a friend careful for you, but scared for what will change?
At the old lumber shack (half-sunk in earth, door gone), Emi shoves past Ryo, showing a rush Mina can’t match. Mina holds the map against the wall, picks out words scraped so thin you need moonlight. She finds two symbols matched to rock points above. Excitement fights jitters.
First Setback
Kaito argues the area is too thick to reach on foot. Emi teases Kaito, but follows. Drone shots from above come in: strange lines in the brush, two large stones marked with twins swirls. The place feels watched.
The Secret Beneath
Night is close, but the four spot a half-open stone trap near the ridge’s edge. The ground is soft. Mina steps forward and drops six inches. Her foot thumps wood under dirt. Ryo grabs her arm.
“You need to stop charging ahead,” Ryo huffs.
“I’m not stopping now! This is my only shot!” Mina fires.
The moment calms. Kaito floats the drone deeper, tipping light down into a narrow hole. Shadows close in fast.
Reaching the Chamber
After quick digging, the team slips into the shelter of the underground room. Map lines make sense now—a spiral on the wall matches Kaito’s video feed from above. Emi helps Mina light a flare.
Inside: signs of long ago campouts—grit, ash, scraps from wires and gears, and at the back, a wooden box bound with odd, blue-string knots.
“Don’t touch it yet. Could be a trick,” Ryo mutters.
Inside the Box
The box opens with a sharp click under Mina’s hand.
Inside, they see gold coins circled in paper. Each coin stamped with a pair of foxes, nose to nose. But some coins crumble under Mina’s light brush—years lost.
Mina reads from the slip inside.
“To those who seek. What is kept is not gold, but the ties who find it.”
She’s silent for a while. Was it about the money, or about coming here together?
Twist: Not Alone After All
A shuffling sound hides beyond the wall. Kaito glances at the feed—on the screen, there’s a shadow near the hole. River boots and a worn red cloak.
“Someone’s coming,” Emi hisses.
Mina’s eyes snap to Ryo’s. Timid Ryo steels his jaw.
“We came for what matters.”
The entry silts with flashlights and rough laughter from outside. A rival group has found their drone, ready to bar their way home.
Cliffhanger Finish
Trapped inside old earth, Mina and her friends clutch the battered box. Shadows twist in the low light. Will Mina protect her truth, or lose more than coins?
What’s hiding at edge of the ridge? And will the four get out—together, whole?
